What are you looking forward to about blogging? What apprehensions might you have? How do you see your use of this technology impacting your professional growth? student achievement?
I am a first time blogger......and am really excited!!! I look forward to everyone dropping their knowledge on me and helping me in my groth as an educator. I hope to use this info and transfer it into my classroom to better enhance the learning of my students!! WHOOO HOOOO!!!!!
I have not used a blogging tool since I was in college and I am so excited to be able to use it again. I am looking forward to being able to share things with others that are happening in the classroom. I think it is a great way for all of us to stay connected throughout the year and provide that feedback to others and get feedback from others.
Not gonna lie...I am a little apprehensive of the blogging world. My experience with blogs is limited, but I know people who blog like it's their job. I am looking forward to reading others opinions and thoughts and sharing my own, but am nervous to recieve feedback. Be kind...
What's not to look forward to about blogging? I'm looking forward to a quick and personally convenient way to maintain contact with teachers going through the same struggles, ups, and downs of our journey together. Hopefully, this will serve as a place to have questiosn answered. I don't know that I have much "advice" to offer, but perhaps I've alraedy run into a roadblock and can help others avoid having the same problem. As we all ask/answer questions and ponder the profession's difficulties, we'll undoubtedly grow as a community; our teaching/student achievment can go up as a whole.
I am looking forward to using blogs because I think that other people will have some comments for me when I blog a topic of my own. Perhaps I will gain new insight...? I am a bit nervous about sharing struggles that I have, or a lack of knowledge about a particular area but I'm sure I'll get over that. I think blogging will also force me to be more reflective. I tried to use a journal last year and I stopped very quickly. Hopefully this will be a great learning opportunity! I'm interested to see if this helps me better myself and in turn, positively impact my students achievement.
I am pretty nervous about this whole blogging thing. I am hop[ing that with time and experience I will become a little more familiar and comfortable with using a blog as a way to communicate with other teachers. I am excited to read and follow the blogs of my fellow Shakopee teachers. Good luck to everyone with the start of a new school year!
I am looking forward to blogging for a few reasongs. First, I have never blogged before, but ultimately I would like to use it in the classroom. This will give me a way to become skilled at the technology before bringing it into the classroom. I also love to reflect on what is happening in the classroom, but at times feel that I am interrupting my colleagues or am not using my time as efficiently as possible. Blogging will help me reflect in a way that is not intrusive and is very efficient.
I am a little apprehensive that I may not have anything useful to say. I would not like to be viewed as saying things that are obvious or trite. I did use moodle at St. Olaf, where I attended college, and did the same thing, so it is not a large concern. However I want my statements to be useful to myself and others.
I hope that this blog will give me new ideas as well as help me be more objective and less emotional when I reflect on lessons.
I am also a first time blogger. I have to say I am a little nervous only because up until now I have been a passive/observer with most social networking sites. I tend to look at what others are writing/tweeting/facebooking...I think it will be a good challenge for me to be more interactive and to gain the confidence of sharing my thoughts and professional opinions and experiences!
I am not going to lie, I definitely have more apprehensions about blogging than things I am looking forward to. I don't have the fancy phones with internet, or even have internet at home, so I have definitely fallen behind the times. I don't enjoy sitting in front of a computer screen, which was a part of my decision in choosing a field where I don't sit at a screen all day. I do realize things are changing, I just see a lot of negatives along with it. I prefer talking face to face, but having said this I will be open to using this blog as a tool to grow professionally. I frequently talk to friends and colleagues that are teachers to bounce ideas off them or get help with something. It will be interesting to see at the end of this if I feel like I have gotten as much out of this blog as I would from going up and talking face to face with another teacher.
This is my first time blogging, should be interesting! I am looking forward to using the information from other teachers and either incorporating it into my classroom or hopefully to feel a sense of comfort. It will also be a great way to keep in contact with what is going on throughout the school year.
I'm with Katlin on this one...maybe I'm too used to reading the harsh, brutal coments on WCCO.com or startribune.com. People can be brutal, and when do they have time? BUT I am looking forward to being able to gather and share information. See, I can think positive!
I am excited that I figured out how to get back to this blogging page on my own. This is my first independent blog! I've taken a bit of time to read other people's blogs and it's a nice format for taking a little time to look at what people are thinking about. I think I may use this for some insight into day-to-day struggles once people become comfortable with the format and with sharing their challenges and high points. I'm glad I took the time today to figure this out before the kids come back next week. Here's to a great year!
Well I almost made it through the first week and I feel that it went pretty good! I am exhausted, but happy. I had many highlights this week. One being meeting my new first graders, and the other seeing past students. I have been thinking a lot about connections since hearing Mark talk to all of us during workshop week. I take pride in making connections with my student. My goal this year is to do a better job at making connections with the staff at my school and the people that are in Phase 2 with me. I think blogging might be the perfect way to connect, lift each other up, encourage each other, and stay connected throughout the year. I hope everyone had a great first week! Way to go on the start of a brand new year!
Deep breath...so happy it is Friday. It has been a great first week with the students. I am excited to meet all of my new students, but am definitely feeling the pressure of making schedules, directing paras, seeing students, consulting with general education teachers, and communicating with parents. TGIF!
This is my first time blogging...it seems like it will be an interesting way of communication and there will be a lot I can take away from it.
